Nick stood there holding Hayley looking at Brian. Leighanne, Kristin, Kevin, AJ, and Howie stood behind Nick.

"Hayley and I are having an affair," Brian said.

"No we aren't, he is just saying that because he wanted to sleep with me and I said no!" Hayley said crying as she held onto Nick.

"Why?" Nick asked.

"I am in love with her, Nick, and I wanted her," Brian said.

"She is my wife, not yours, she is the mother of my children," Nick said.

"I know that," Brian said.

"Then remember that the next time you try to get her into bed," Nick said angrily.

"Okay, okay!" Brian said. Nick helped Hayley upstairs and they sat down on the bed.

"I know you love me and I love you," Nick said.

"I have been faithful to you, Nick, I never slept around on you," Hayley said. He kissed her deeply and passionately.

Two weeks later, Hayley was sitting watching TV when Nick came in. She smiled. He sat down.

"I have to tell you something, I've been having an affair for the last two months," Nick said.

"With who!" Hayley said.

"Willa," Nick said.

"Do you want to be with her?" Hayley said.

"No, I don't," Nick said. Hayley looked at her hands.

"Get out," Hayley said.

"Hayley, I'm sorry," Nick said.

"Find somewhere else to stay," Hayley said.

"Can I still see the kids?" Nick asked.

"I don't know, I'll let you know, just get out of my sight!" Hayley cried. Nick nodded and went upstairs and packed a bag and left. Hayley laid on the couch and cried. The next day, the doorbell rang. Hayley opened the door and saw Brian.

"What do you want," Hayley said coldly.

"I wanted to let you know that I'm complelety over you, I won't try to get you anymore, I won't try to get you into bed, I'm over my feelings for you, I'm completely in love with Leighanne, she and I are back together and getting remarried," Brian said.

"Is this the truth?" Hayley asked.

"Yes, Hayley, and you were right, I was going against my beliefs," Brian said.

"Good," Hayley said.

"I heard about Nick having an affair, I didn't have anything to do with it, I swear," Brian said.

"I know, I know Nick wouldn't want to be with Willa until he wanted to," Hayley said.

"I better go, got a wedding to plan, bye!" Brian said. Hayley closed the door and picked up Alicia and looked at Nicky in his playpen. She never felt more alone than that moment.

Chapter 16

Three months went by. Hayley let Nick come by to see Alicia and Nicky almost every day. The guys were back in the studio. Brian and Leighanne didn't get remarried due to her falling for another guy. Kristin came in and saw her sitting there.

"Hey girl," Kristin said.

"Hey," Hayley said.

"Still down about everything," Kristin said.

"Yeah, no more perfect family," Hayley said.

"Kevin called me, Brian has feelings for you again," Kristin said.

"Oh joy," Hayley said.

"Hayley, did you ever have feelings for Brian?" Kristin said.

"No, unlike Nick, I wasn't unfaithful," Hayley said.

"What about now?" Kristin said.

"My heart is too broken to be mended, I gave Nick everything and what happens, he has an affair with his ex," Hayley said.

"I'll talk to you later," Kristin said. She left. Hayley sat there.

Two weeks later, Nick came by and got the kids and left. Hayley called Brian over. He came over and came in and closed the door. Hayley locked the door.

"Hayley," Brian said. She pushed him against the wall.

"I heard you have feelings for me again, are they like before?" Hayley asked.

“Yes, they are, I don’t think they ever went away,” Brian said. Hayley smiled.

“Do you remember what you really wanted?” Hayley said.

“Hayley, are you serious about this, are you using me to get revenge on Nick for what he did,” Brian said. Hayley looked away and went and sat down.

“I’m sorry!” Hayley said as she started crying.

“Hayley, this isn’t the way to do things, what’s done is done,” Brian said.

“I lied to you, Brian, I did have feelings for you before,” Hayley said.

“Do you still?” Brian asked.

“Yeah, I think I do,” Hayley said. Brian kissed her softly. The kiss deepened. The front door opened and closed and Nick came in with Nicky and Alicia and saw them kissing. He felt his heart drop as he watched his wife and best friend kiss on the couch.

Chapter 17

Nick cleared his throat. Hayley and Brian broke apart and looked at him.

        “Is this what I get, you making out with my best friend,” Nick said.

        “You had the affair, I’m free to do what I want, Brian has feelings for me, I have feelings for him,” Hayley said.

        “Oh so you are over me, aren’t you,” Nick said. He put Nicky in his playpen and Alicia in her bassinet.

        “No, I’m not, okay, it’s hard being over the father of my children, okay, but you had an affair behind my back for two months, when I never did anything to you, I was never unfaithful to you,” Hayley said.

        “She did nothing but love you and have your children and you repay her by sleeping with your ex, I’m sorry, Hayley, but if he’s going to be pissed about it, we should be friends,” Brian said. Hayley nodded looking at Nick. Brian hugged her and left.

        “I made a mistake okay, I did it to protect you guys,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

        “Protect us, all you did was hurt us!” Hayley said.

        “She was going to hurt you and our kids, I mean hurt, I know her, Hayley, she would seriously do it too, she said she would kill you and our kids, she is that heartless but the sex meant nothing to me and I made sure I was protected,” Nick said. Hayley sat down.

        “Nick, you should have told me the truth,” Hayley said.

        “I couldn’t, she would have hurt you for me telling you,” Nick said. He sat down beside her.

        “I never made love to her, it was sex, you are the only one I have made love to, you are my heart and soul, I would die without you, that’s why I had to do it, because I knew she would kill you and our kids, if that happened, there was no way I could go on,” Nick said.

        “You better not be saying that to get me back,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her forehead.

        “I swear on Nicky and Alicia’s lives that it’s the truth,” Nick said.

        “What about my feelings for Brian?” Hayley asked.

        “Do you love him?” Nick asked.

        “Not like I love you,” Hayley said.

        “If it comes down to it, sleep with him, I deserve it,” Nick said. Hayley looked at him.

        “Are you serious?” Hayley asked.

        “Yeah, I trust you,” Nick said.

        “Is the threat gone?” Hayley asked.

        “Willa is engaged to her old high school sweetheart, it’s over,” Nick said.

        “Take me upstairs, Nick,” Hayley said. They put the kids to bed and went to their room and made passionate love. Afterwards, they went to sleep holding each other tight.

Chapter 18

(Okay, Hayley was daydreaming and she is still in the game room alone)

Hayley sat there when she heard the door open and close and lock. She looked up and saw Brian standing there. He came over and pulled her close. She tried to get away but he held her tight and he kissed her deeply. She struggled to get out of his arms. Brian kissed her neck.

        “I want you, Hayley, I have to have you, and I know you want it, too, I can feel it,” Brian said.

            “Let me go, Brian, please!” Hayley said crying. He kissed her hard. She weakened against him and he kissed her deeply. He laid her on the floor and laid on top of her and they kissed deeply as he started to remove her clothes when there was a knock at the door.

        “Is someone in there?” Nick asked. Hayley got up and fixed her clothes.

        “Yeah, man, I’m in here, playing games,” Brian said.

        “Why is the door locked?” Nick asked.

        “Bad habit,” Brian said.

        “Have you seen Hayley?” Nick asked.

        “No, I haven’t,’ Brian said.

        “Okay, well, food’s ready, so come on,” Nick said. They heard him walk off. Brian went over to Hayley. She shook her head and went out the door and went out back.

        “Hey honey, where were you?” Nick asked as Brian came outside.

        “I went for a walk,” Hayley said.

        “Oh, you should have told me where you were going, I was worried about you,” Nick said kissing her forehead. She leaned against him as he held her close.

        “I’m sorry, Nick, you were talking with Kevin, I didn’t want to interrupt,” Hayley said. Nick kissed her deeply.

        “Just tell me next time, okay, I love you,” Nick said.

        “I love you, too,” Hayley said resting her head on his chest as he held her close.

        “Hayley, want me to fix you something?” Kevin asked.

        “Thanks, if you don’t mind,” Hayley said. Kevin fixed her a plate and handed it to her. She sat down with Nick and ate her food, knowing Brian was watching her.

Chapter 19

That night, Nick put the kids to bed and came in and saw Hayley standing at the window looking out at the sky. Nick came over to her and held her from behind. Hayley moved away and sat down on the bed. She told him everything that has happened with Brian. Nick sat there.

        “Did you sleep with him?” Nick asked.

        “No, I didn’t, I didn’t want to hurt you or our kids, I don’t know what I would do if I lost you and our kids,” Hayley said.

        “Are you lying to me?” Nick asked.

        “Nick, no, I am not lying to you, I couldn’t never lie to you, I can’t lose you or our kids, it would kill me,” Hayley said.

        “I will talk to Brian tomorrow, let’s go to bed,” Nick said. Hayley got into bed and laid on her side. Nick got into bed and faced away from her. She felt so alone even in the same bed as Nick. But she felt better telling him the truth. She got up and walked around the room.

        “What’s wrong with you?” Nick asked sitting up.

        “What is wrong with you, I tell the truth of what’s been happening and telling you that I never was unfaithful to you, and you act like I’m lying to you, well, I’m not, you and the kids mean everything to me and it will kill me if I lose you and our kids!” Hayley said crying. Nick got up and came over to her and hugged her close.

        “I’m sorry, baby, I know you wouldn’t do anything to hurt me or our kids, I love you so much,” Nick said. Hayley looked up at him.

        “My life would be empty without you in my life, and our kids, I love you more than life itself,” Hayley said.

        “You won’t lose me or our kids,” Nick said.

        “Make love to me, Nick, please, I need you so badly,” Hayley said. Nick picked her up and laid her on the bed and got on top of her and removed her pajamas. Nick removed his shorts and they made passionate love. They went to sleep holding each other close.
