Chapter 40

After three days of intense lovemaking, Hayley laid there in bed while Nick slept. She didn’t want to break his heart by telling him the truth.

That night, they were at Howie’s club. He was having a open mike night where anyone could sing the song they wanted. Hayley decided to sing a song. She got up onstage and sang Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson.  Nick and the guys watched her and were amazed by her voice. She got offstage after she was done and she came over to Nick. He hugged her tight.

The next day, Hayley went to the police station and asked to talk to Willa. She sat in a room waiting. The door opened and Officer Thomas came in with Willa in handcuffs. He left the room and stood outside the door.

        “Hello, Willa,” Hayley said.

        “What do you want,” Willa said.

        “I want to know what you did to my husband while he was being held prisoner by you,” Hayley said.

        “Nothing,” Willa said.

        “Then how come he can’t have any more children, the doctor said that it looks like he had a vasectomy, did you do it or have someone do it without him knowing,” Hayley said.

        “I didn’t do anything to him,” Willa said.

        “Stop lying, Willa, I need to know the truth,” Hayley said.

        “Okay, I did it, I had a doctor drug Nick and give him a vasectomy,” Willa said.

        “You just ruined his life, Willa, he wanted a lot of kids, but he only has one and he can’t have more, and you say you love him,” Hayley said.

        “I will always love him,” Willa said.

        “Then how could you do such a thing, kidnap him, get him unable to have more kids,” Hayley said.

        “I wanted your life ruined,” Willa said.

        “Then why go after him, why not come after me!” Hayley said.

        “Because he was your world,” Willa said. Hayley stood up.

        “Goodbye, Willa, I hope you rot in prison, because that is where you are going, the system isn’t going to go easy on kidnappers,” Hayley said. She went to Brian’s house. She went in and saw Brian and Leighanne sitting there watching TV.

        “Hey girl,” Brian said.

        “Is Nick here?” Hayley asked.

        “No,” Brian said.

        “Good, I went to see Willa, she admitted that she had a doctor give Nick a vasectomy, she wanted to ruin my life, not his, but she went after him because he was my world,” Hayley said.

        “Damn her,” Brian said.

        “I don’t know what to do, I can’t tell him the truth, it will kill him,” Hayley said. Brian and Leighanne looked at each other.

        “Brian and I talked and we will help you get pregnant, Brian can donate his sperm,” Leighanne said.

        “Thanks,” Hayley said. They went to see Dr. Green. They did the process and went home. Hayley walked in and saw Nick sitting there holding Emily.

        “When were you going to tell him about my condition,” Nick said.

        “What do you mean?” Hayley said.

        “I know the truth, Hayley, I was at the police station, I was watching you and Willa talk, I heard everything,” Nick said.

        “I didn’t want you to know, I know you wanted more kids, I didn’t want you to know,” Hayley said.

        “Who else knows,” Nick said.

        “Brian, Leighanne, and AJ,” Hayley said.

        “How could you do this, are you hiding anything else,” Nick said.

        “I went to Brian for help in getting pregnant so you wouldn’t know the truth,” Hayley said.

        “You slept with my best friend!” Nick yelled.

        “No, Nick, he just donated his sperm and we went to Dr. Green to do the process, we didn’t have sex or make love, it didn’t involve a bed,” Hayley said.

        “So you could be having Brian’s baby!” Nick said angrily.

        “It would have been yours if you didn’t know the truth,” Hayley said.

        “You were going to lie to me,” Nick said.

        “Well, you know the whole truth now, so it won’t be a lie anymore,” Hayley said.

        “I can’t believe you would do this,” Nick said.

        “It’s all Willa’s fault, she did this by drugging you and having a doctor perform a vasectomy on you,” Hayley said.

        “I don’t care whose fault it is, you should have told me the truth in the beginning, we would have figured something out,” Nick said.

        “You wanted more kids, Nick, I wanted to give them to you, I knew what it would do to you if you found out that you can’t have any more kids,” Hayley said.

        “So you go behind my back to get pregnant by my best friend, I could have handled the truth!” Nick said. He got up and put Emily in her playpen and looked at Hayley.

        “I wanted you to be happy!” Hayley said.

        “I was until I found out the truth and that you went behind my back to get pregnant by Brian,” Nick said. He grabbed his keys.

        “Nick, please,” Hayley said.

        “No, Hayley, I don’t know who you are anymore, I’ll be back for my stuff when you aren’t home, we are over,” Nick said. He went out the door. Hayley sat down and covered her face with her hands and cried.

Chapter 41

Three months later, Hayley learned she was expecting a child and she knew it was Brian’s. She told Brian and Leighanne and told them that if they wanted, they could adopt the baby once it was born.  Nick filed for a divorce and the papers arrived and Hayley sat there looking at them. He was filing for joint custody of Emily. She looked at Emily. Nick had them put down that if she didn’t sign the papers by a date, he would file for sole custody of Emily. She knew that she shouldn’t have lied to him.  Brian and Leighanne came in.

        “Hey girl,” Brian said.

        “Hey,” Hayley said staring at the divorce papers.

        “About what you asked us, we can’t adopt the baby, but I will be there for the baby,” Brian said.

        “I know you guys are expecting your own, and I can’t believe I even asked you to father a child to hide the truth, but I did and it’s too late now, he’s filed for divorce and I’m pregnant with your child, why am I so stupid, I should have just been honest with him,” Hayley said.

        “We were at Dr. Green’s office and she asked us to give this to you,” Brian said. He handed her some papers. She looked at them.

        “What is this, oh my god,” Hayley said.

        “What does it say?” Brian asked.

        “Did you read this?” Hayley said.

        “No,” Brian said. Leighanne shook her head.

        “I conceived before the day we did the process,” Hayley said.

        “You mean it’s Nick’s baby?” Leighanne asked.

        “Yeah,” Hayley said.

        “But I thought she said that he looks like he had a vasectomy,” Brian said. Hayley looked at the papers.

        “Get Nick to go get tested again, don’t tell him why, just suggest it,” Hayley said. Brian went out the door. Hayley put her hand on her stomach.

        “Hayley,” Leighanne said.

        “I’m carrying Nick’s child,” Hayley said.

        “Yeah,” Leighanne said.

        “How are you doing?” Hayley said.

        “Fine, just being six months pregnant really gets to me,” Leighanne said. Hayley smiled.

Meanwhile, Brian went to Nick’s beach house and found Nick standing on the beach. Nick saw him.

        “What is it,” Nick said.

        “Nick, you should go get tested again, just to make sure Willa was lying, the tests could be wrong, I will tell you why after you get tested, I’ll go with you, come on,” Brian said. Nick shrugged and they went to see Dr. Green. She ran tests and left the room. Nick looked at Brian.

        “What is all this about?” Nick asked.

        “Hayley’s having your baby, we gave her papers from Dr. Green when me and Leighanne were here for a checkup, the papers said that when they did the process for Hayley to get pregnant by me, she had already conceived a child, she said it’s your child,” Brian said.  Awhile later, Dr. Green came in.

        “Nick, the first tests were wrong, there was no vasectomy,” Dr. Green said. Nick looked at Brian. They left the doctor’s office.

        “She was right, I thought she was lying, but she said I was fine, she was right if though she didn’t know it, I have to talk to her,” Nick said. They went to Hayley’s house and went in and saw Leighanne and Hayley talking. They looked up and saw them. Brian and Leighanne left. Hayley sat there. Nick saw the divorce papers and ripped them up and pulled Hayley up and kissed her deeply.

        “Dr. Green said there was no vasectomy, you were right even if you didn’t know it, I can have more children, and I want them with you,” Nick said. Hayley smiled and hugged him tight.

        “I love you so much, I felt like my life was over,” Hayley said.

        “It’s not over, we are together forever,” Nick said. They kissed deeply and he carried her upstairs and they made passionate love. Nick laid there stroking her stomach.

        “Our baby is in here,” Nick said.

        “Our love created it, I was so lost without you and I never want to be without you again,” Hayley said.

        “You and Emily are my everything,” Nick said. They heard Emily fussing over the baby monitor. Nick got up and put his underwear and pants on and went to Emily’s room and picked her up.

        “Hey Em, it’s okay, Daddy’s here, I’m never leaving you and Mommy again, I promise you that,” Nick said. Hayley smiled as she listened through the baby monitor. She stroked her stomach and smiled at the thought of having Nick’s child again.

Chapter 42

Three months later, Leighanne had a baby boy. They named him Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell. Hayley was looking at the baby in the nursery. She felt arms wrap around her from behind.

"Hey baby," Nick said resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Hey, he is so beautiful," Hayley said looking at Baylee.

"Yeah, I want a boy," Nick said.

"You will get one," Hayley said.

"You know what the sex of the baby is?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, it's a boy," Hayley said. Nick hugged her.

"I love you," Nick said kissing her neck.

"I love you, too," Hayley said.

An hour later, they went home and Hayley laid down on the bed and went to sleep.

**She felt his hands run over her body. She moaned and felt his lips on her neck and he moved his lips to her chest and his hands caress her gently. Soon he moves his body between her legs and he kisses her lips as he goes inside her body. She moans in his mouth as they move together. They come together crying out each other’s names and he lays on top of her and stares into her eyes. His emerald green eyes looking into her brown eyes.**

Hayley woke up and sat up. She looked around and saw she was in her bedroom. She looked at her hands and saw her wedding rings. She looked at her stomach. Nick came into the bedroom and looked at her.

        “Baby, what’s wrong,” Nick said.

        “Nothing, just a weird dream,” Hayley said.

        “Do you want to talk about it?” Nick asked.

        “No, did I talk or do anything while I was asleep?” Hayley asked.

        “No, I didn’t hear anything,” Nick said.

        “Are you sure?” Hayley said.

        “Hayley, I would tell you if I heard anything,” Nick said.

        “I love you, Nick, so much, I never want to be without you in my life, you and Emily are everything to me, and I can’t wait until our son is born,” Hayley said. Nick sat down and kissed her deeply.  He hugs her and goes back downstairs. Hayley lays down and goes back to sleep.

**He stroked her cheek and kisses her deeply. After a few moments, he goes back inside her body and they are moving together, moaning and gasping. He caressed her body and he came inside her and she came behind him and they moaned each other’s names and he laid on top of her and his green eyes once again stared into her eyes.**

Hayley sat up and looked around. She laid down and covered her face and realized she was dreaming of someone else making love to her who was not her husband.  She laid there scared to go back to sleep.
